Welcome
The Department of Earth Sciences offers comprehensive programs of study leading to Bachelor of Science degrees in Meteorology, Ocean Sciences and Coastal Studies, and Geology. We also offer a program for earning a Bachelor of Arts in Earth Sciences, with a new option in Environmental Geology, and a Bachelor of Science in Education in Earth Science with a teaching certification in Earth and Space Science.

Ocean Science Club students spent their 2013 Spring break helping in the cleanup of the beaches and planting trees near the MSC.

27 Students Attend AMS in Austin, TX
The annual American Meteorological Society Meeting provides students with the opportunity to network with professionals across the weather and climate enterprise, attend conferences and town hall meetings on relevant and timely topics, and circulate resumes. Since 2001, Millersville University has hosted an alumni reception at the annual meeting. This year's reception set an attendance record for alumni participation, with over 120 alumni, students, and friends of the university stopping by to show their support.

Students Launch "Weather Watch" TV!
Students leaning toward a career in broadcast meteorology can now participate in the production the new Weather Watch TV program, produced twice monthly in collaboration with MUTV-99. Earth Sciences Continues Rain Sampling
Under an agreement and with funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Millersville University will continue to operate a collection site as part of the National Atmospheric Deposition Program (NADP) and Mercury Deposition Network (MDN) through 2014. In the photo, Anna Salvaggio and Travis Toth, both trained site operators, demonstrate proper sample collection techniques to their peers in the course ESCI 447, Meteorological Instruments, Measurements, and Observing Systems.
