Confirm Your Enrollment for Winter/Spring 2009

Please contact the admission office if you have any questions. 1-800-MU-ADMIT, or email admissions@millersville.edu.

Enrollment Process

Step 1

Confirming Intent to Enroll

Once you have confirmed your intent to attend Millersville University, many service offices will contact you about next steps in the enrollment process. Information about confirmation was included with your acceptance letter along with instructions about paying required fees. The deadline to submit your confirmation is April 1st for fall entry and November 1st for spring entry. As long as we receive your confirmation by the due date, your space in class is guaranteed.

Step 2

Financial Aid

We recommend that each student complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 15. In order to meet the deadline, you can estimate your income information if your federal tax return has not yet been completed. Visit this site for answers to frequently asked questions. Here is a calendar that can keep you on track with the financial aid process.

Step 3

Housing

Beginning in the spring semester, the Housing Office (717-872-3162) sends information to all on-campus students who have submitted their confirmation. General information about resident life can be found here.

Placement Testing

All new freshmen and many transfer students are required to take at least one placement test. Certain majors and courses require placement testing before course registration. General placement tests are administered in the following subject areas: Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, and Foreign Languages (French, German & Spanish). More information about placement testing is available here. Be sure to scroll to the bottom for information about specific subject examinations. You will be notified when it is time to register for the examinations.

Step 5

Forms

We need to collect some more information from you that is used by a variety of offices to improve your Millersville experience. Be sure to complete the Health Information forms that are required of new students. All forms are available on your student portal. You will be taken to a new screen that will ask your student ID number. Once you sign onto the portal, the first thing you should see is a channel with the heading "New Student Forms". Each form includes instructions and contact information.

Step 6

Billing

The Bursar's Office is responsible for university billing. Fall semester bills are generated in mid-to-late July (shortly after tuition is announced by the State). Spring bills are mailed the week of Thanksgiving. For further information including meal plans, tuition and fee costs, due dates and payment plans, visit the Bursar's web page.

Step 7

Orientation

All incoming new students with 30 credits or less are required to attend the Fall Orientation Program, which will be taking place August 19-24, 2008. Graduate Students should see the Office of Graduate Studies for information on the Graduate Orientation program. Additionally, all incoming students must participate in the Common Reading Program. Check out the Orientation web site for further information.
