Millersville University 23rd Annual Brossman Science Lecture

The program features an afternoon presentation by the guest scientist to local fifth through eighth grade students, an afternoon science and mathematics competition examination and science demonstrations by University faculty for local 10th and 11th grade students, and an evening presentation by the guest scientist for the exam participants, their advisors, and the University and local communities.
Dr. Gary Telgenhoff is scheduled as the 2007 speaker. He is currently employed as a Forensic Pathologist and Deputy Medical Examiner at the Clark County Coroner's Office, Las Vegas, Nevada. He is also the forensics consultant on the hit television drama CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. TV viewers may also recognize him as the coroner on an anti-drug public announcement, where he describes Ecstasy as the sole cause of death of a young woman. He sees approximately one thousand bodies a year, 450 of which he autopsies. Of these cases, 45 are homicides. His presence is often required in court with regard to his findings and determination of cause and manner of death. Previous guest scientists have included Neil Tyson, Mark Plotkin, Robert Ballard, Richard Leakey, James Burke, and Issac Asimov.
