Dr. Kirsten Bookmiller is a faculty member in the Department of Government and Political Affairs at MU as well as the Director of Global Education and Partnerships for the university. Her teaching and research program is in the area of international humanitarian policy and law. She has forthcoming books on the United Nations and UNICEF.

Richard D. Clark, Ph.D.

Richard D. Clark is the Chair of the Department of Earth Sciences and Professor of Meteorology at Millersville University of Pennsylvania. His research interests are boundary layers and turbulence, air chemistry, and science education. He has a Ph.D. in atmospheric science from the University of Wyoming and is a member of the American Meteorological Society and the American Geophysical Union.

Dr. Beverly Schneller, Professor of English, has been teaching Technical Writing for 25 years. She is the author/editor of two Oxford University texts, Writing about Science and Writing about Business and Industry.

John R. Wallace, Ph.D.

Dr. John Wallace is a board certified forensic entomologist under the American Board of Forensic Entomologists and is currently the President of the North American Forensic Entomology Association. He holds member status within the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and has presented his research on forensic entomology and botany at various professional conferences and published his work in several forensic science books, journals and magazines. Dr. Wallace is co-coordinator of the MU Forensic Science Guidance Committee and has supervised numerous students in directed research studies and internships related to forensic science.

Sepideh Yalda, Ph.D.

Sepideh Yalda is an Associate Professor of Meteorology at Millersville University. Her research interests are in the areas of climate dynamics and regional climate change. She also has a strong interest in science education and research related to improving science education at the pre-college and undergraduate levels. She earned her Ph.D. in Meteorology from Saint Louis University in 1997. She is a member of the American Geophysical Union, American Meteorological Society, SIGMA XI Scientific Research Society, and the Royal Meteorological Society. She serves on a number of national committees including the National Environmental Education & Training Foundations Eyes on the Environment Advisory Committee, University Corporation for Atmospheric Research University Relations Committee, and the advisory panel for the Cooperative Program for Operational Meteorology, Education and Training (COMET).

Henry W. Fischer, is a retired Professor of Sociology, Director of the Center for Disaster Research & Education (CDRE), Editor of UnScheduled Events, Editor of International Journal of Contemporary Disaster Review, Web Host for the International Journal of Mass Emergencies & Disasters, Program Coordinator for both the Master of Science in Emergency Management as well as the Multi-Disciplinary Minor in Environmental Hazards & Emergency Management. His research specialty, for more than 20 years, is in behavioral and organizational response to disasters and terrorism—for example, NSF grants supported work in south Asia after the 2004 tsunami and the U.S. Gulf coast after Hurricane Katrina. His body of work includes the presentation of more than three dozen papers at professional conferences around the world, the publication of more than two dozen scholarly journal articles, three books, two monographs, various consulting projects, e.g., Research Planning, Inc. (Department of Defense), TOPOFF2. He has appeared on CNN, MS-NBC, and radio programs in the U.S. and Canada. His PhD in Sociology was earned at the University of Delaware; he is a member of the American Sociological Association, the International Sociological Association, and the International Research Committee on Disasters.
