What is MUOnline?

MUOnline is the distance learning program at Millersville University . Distance learning courses provide access to education while students and faculty members are separated from each other by time and/or space. Distance learning can be a great option for students who want or need flexible and convenient access to scholarship and knowledge.


What courses and programs are available at MUOnline?

Millersville University offers a variety of online and blended courses in the following areas: Business, Communication, English, French, Psychology, Music, Meteorology, Nursing, Education, Special Education and EducatorSource Workshops. MU's first fully online degree program is the MS in Emergency Management.

Blended courses combine online components with some face-to-face meetings. Although MU does offer two graduate blended programs (MSN in Education and MSW in partnership with Shippensburg University).

Is a distance learning course easier than a face-to-face course?

The level of difficulty for distance learning courses should be equivalent to a face-to-face course. Please note that a distance learning course in many cases can be more difficult as participation is a key factor to your success!

How can I register for MUOnline courses?

You can register for classes at the Millersville University web site using our online access system, MAX . You must have a student ID to register. If you are not a current student, please apply for admission. For graduate admissions, please contact the Office of Graduate Studies (717-872-3099) . If you are not interested in completing a degree program, and would like to take MUOnline courses, please request a non-degree application.


What computer requirements are necessary to take MUOnline courses?

To participate in MUOnline courses, you will need access to a computer with a modem, browser (i.e. internet explorer) and the Internet. Most computers that are in operation today are adequate for this work. The more powerful the computer, the faster you will be able to access course materials!
