Signing Up For Marauder Email


    Creating your Marauder Email Account

    At Millersville, an important way we keep in touch with you is through email, and we provide you with a free MU student email account. Because we use email as an official way of communicating with students, you are required to activate your new MU account and use it regularly, even if you possess another account through Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL, or other service.

    Here's How to Get Your New, Free MU Email Account

    1. Fill out the Student Email Agreement Form. You may have completed the form in the New Student booklet already, or you can go the Millersville University website and follow the directions. CLICK HERE TO OPEN AND PRINT THE FORM . You can also call the Information Technology Help Desk at 717-871-2371 to request the form by mail.
    2. Complete the form and send it back to Millersville with your orientation registration information, or, you can send it by itself to the Information Technology Help Desk. The adress for the Help Desk is:

    Your new MU email account will be active within four days after we receive your form.

    What's My Username?

    Student usernames on the MU student email system (called Marauder) are created using your first initial, middle initial, and the first six letters of your last name, followed by the address @marauder.millersville.edu.

    If you do not have a middle initial, use the first two letters of your first name followed by the first six letters of your last name.

    Example:

    • Robert D. Jones would have the username rdjones.
    • Mary Smith (no middle initial) would have the username masmith.
    • Mary Smith's full email address would be masmith@marauder.millersville.edu.


    Using Your Student Email Account on the Web

    Once your MU email account is activated, you'll wnt to use it! You'll get to your account through WebMail, which you can acces by using any web browser, like Netscape or Internet Explorer.

    Accessing WebMail through Netscape, Internet Explorer, etc.

    1. Launch Millersville University's home page: www.millersville.edu
    2. Click on the "Information for" current students area.
    3. Click on the WebMail graphic (you may have to scroll down.)

    Logging on to Your Marauder Account with WebMail

    To log on to your email account for the first time:

    1. Type in your username and press the TAB key.
    2. Type in your password (the initials of your first and last name plus the first five numbers of your social security number; all lowercase, no spaces.)
      Example: Mary Smith's social security number is 123-45-6789. Her password is ms12345.
    3. Click on the Log In button or press the enter key.Click on the Log In button or press the enter key.

    If either of these is not correct, the system will blank out the username and password fields for you to try again.
