Millersville University Leadership Summit

The Millersville University Leadership Summit is a one-day conference to be held November 11, 2006. The Summit is designed for student leaders or any student seeking to enhance their leadership skills in order to become more effective in their leadership roles; now and in the future.

Our keynote speaker at the Leadership Summit will be Michael Poll is one of the top professional speakers and leadership trainers in the United States. In his leadership and success programs, Poll shares information that will help students achieve and asks them to participate in activities that drive his points home. All of Poll's programs are conducted with creativity and flexibility. He blends positive messages with activities and discussions that bring out the best in participants and are structured to meet their specific needs. “I don't tell students what to do,” Poll says. “Instead, I help them learn for themselves by providing examples, stories, and humor.” Poll has been speaking to college students since 1994. As a full-time speaker and trainer, he has spoken from Toronto to the Virgin Islands and in 43 states. In addition to college programs, he has presented to 1,200 different non-education organizations. Some of his corporate clients include: Kodak, Kinkos, Nextel, Bank One, Ford Motor Company, Ernst & Young, Sears, Ameritech and AT&T. His powerful programs leave a lasting impact.

Student leaders participating in the conference will learn about their personal leadership style, issues of leadership in a diverse community, group dynamics, conflict resolution, time management, how to run effective meetings, ethics and the role of student leaders, effective communication and many other leadership development tools.
